Two Rivers HS Classes

Classes are over for 2013 - stay tuned for early 2014 classes!

The Two Rivers NEWP classes are held at the Two River High School from January through March as shown to the right. All classes typically begin with classroom time from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. followed by pool time from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Participants must be at least 12 years of age; participants ages 12 - 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants will need swim wear, aqua socks or appropriate footwear. A synthetic t-shirt or lightweight neoprene is optional for comfort in the pool. Boats, paddles and all other gear required for the class are provided by the North East Wisconsin Paddlers. Nose clips will be available for a nominal fee. The Lead Instructor is John Bodwin. Registration information will be available through the City of Two Rivers Recreation Department. Course fees are $80 for City of Two Rivers residents; $90 for non-residents. Class participants are invited to participate in Student Outings each June. These include both a whitewater paddle trip on the Red River and a Sea Kayak outing on Lake Michigan (conditions permitting).

Open Pool

Open pool dates will also be posted below when available. Please be sure to check the open pool policy on the CLASS page. It is critical that all boats brought into the Two Rivers High School pool are clean, inside and out. Boats that are dirty, or have leaves or other debris in them can not be allowed into the pool.

Second Class: All Sundays from 2 - 5 p.m. on February 5, 12, 19 and 26

Rolls and Rescues: Sundays from 2 - 5 p.m. on March 4, 18 and 25

Class Makeup/ Open Pool: Sundays from 2 - 5 p.m. on April 1 and 15

Open Pool Dates: January, February and March Sundays from 2 - 3:15 p.m. on same dates as scheduled classes above.
