The 2012 class schedule includes one
four-session Kayak Essentials Class and one four-session Rescue and
Roll class. NEWP classes are held in Green Bay in conjunction with
the YMCA at the 380 Broadview Drive. Sessions are scheduled
from 3:30pm to 6:00p.m. on successive Sunday afternoons except for
Easter Sunday and Canoecopia Weekend held in mid-March. Lead
Instructors are Chuck Sivret and Robin Nelson; several other
certified and assistant instructors also help with the classes.
The Kayaking Essentials and Kayak
Rescue and Roll class fees for YCMA Members and General Public
participants can be found in the Winter Program Guide, available
online at http://ebook.greenbayymca.org/.
Participants will need swim wear, aqua socks or appropriate
footwear. A synthetic t-shirt or lightweight neoprene is optional
for comfort in the pool. Boats, paddles and all other gear required
for the class are provided by the North East Wisconsin Paddlers.
Nose clips will be available for a nominal fee. Participants
who complete the class will also be invited to participate in
Student Outings in June 2012. These include both a whitewater
paddle trip on the Red River and a Sea Kayak outing on Lake
Michigan (conditions permitting).

from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for ACA members; $10 for
