Open pool sessions are also offered for NEWP members and current year students; open pool coordinator (Sundays) is Jack Roberts.

Participants will need swim wear, aqua socks or appropriate footwear. A synthetic t-shirt or lightweight neoprene is optional for comfort in the pool. Boats, paddles and all other gear required for the class are provided by the North East Wisconsin Paddlers. Nose clips will be available for a nominal fee. Participants in our 2012 classes are eligible to participate in open pool sessions at the Appleton YMCA on the dates shown on the Appleton class page and will also be invited to participate in Student Outings in June 2012. These include both a whitewater paddle trip on the Red River and a Sea Kayak outing on Lake Michigan (conditions permitting).

Registration for the classes is available online for YMCA members starting in mid-December. General public registration begins in early January.
