Student Outings June 6 and 7

This year's student outings are coming up with a whitewater paddle on the Red River on Saturday June 6 and a coastal paddle on the Manitowoc River and Lake Michigan on Sunday June 7. This event is part of our Kayak Essentials and Roll/ Rescue class and open to participants from June of 2014 through April of 2015. (more info)

Next Public Paddle June 20-21 on Peshtigo

ALocksTimeLapseThumbnailOur eight public paddle events planned for 2015 continue June 20-21 with our full weekend on the Caldron Falls Reservoir and High Falls Flowage. In addition to a paddle tour, Saturday's event will include rescue training and other skill development opportunities for those interested. Photos from our May 16 paddle.

Several of this year's events will again be hosted with the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway, and others focus on North East Wisconsin venues off the "main stream" and are identified as NEW Places.

Kayak Essential Class Coming in June

Our popular Kayak Essentials class through the City of Appleton Recreation Department at Erb Pool (June 8, 10, 15 and 17) has filled up and has a waiting list. Plan now to participate in our Green Bay and Appleton YMCA classes in early 2016, or check out the Door County Sea Kayak Symposium in July.  See CLASSES for registration details.

North East Wisconsin Paddler Information

About NEWP: This is the web home of the North East Wisconsin Paddlers Inc. (NEWP). NEWP, is an ACA Paddle America Club with members from throughout north east Wisconsin and beyond. NEWP is formally organized as a social club (501(c)7).

The goal of the North East Wisconsin Paddlers, Inc. is to encourage and advance paddle sport education and safety. Whether it is whitewater, surf, canoes, stand-up boards or kayaks, we look to bring together like-minded individuals with whom we can share our passion for paddling.

Check out the rest of our website for information on our club - who we are and what we do! Several of our members have earned certification as whitewater or coastal sea kayak instructors and enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience with others. We offer classes in several northeast Wisconsin citites from November through April and several other activities or events through the paddle season. Many of our members also engage in informal weekly paddles in various locations, on inland lakes or onto Lake Michigan from Two Rivers or Sheboygan launch sites.

Check us out here -  then come along for a safe, great time on the water!

NEWP is proud to be a Paddle America Club of the American Canoe Association (ACA) and affiliated with American Whitewater.
